Houston, tenemos un problema... ¡y gordo!

Situación: tienda, probador, espejo, un mono corto de verano en la mano a punto de probármelo. Talla, color, estampado y tejido a pedir de boca.




Maniobra 1: mono puesto, en mis piernas se ve más corto de lo que pensaba y parece que la costura de la cintura se ha quedado en la zona de mis costillas...


  • Test 1: subir hombros delante del espejo.. ¡ayyyy! ¿pero qué pasa ahí abajo?
  • Test 2: hacer el amago de sentarme en la silla del probador. Esto es la guerra.. culo y hombros entran a matar, mi pechonalidad se queda fuera –gracias señor por las modestas ciruelas que me diste-. El cuerpo ya no puede más, o el mono o yo. Fin del test. No me puedo ni sentar.

    Maniobra 2: una talla más, mono -más bien saco- puesto, la cintura baila alrededor de las costillas, el largo del pantalón es el mismo pero esta vez más ancho. Basta! No quiero seguir mirando, me niego a llevar este saco estampado que no respeta mis medidas a una modista.

    Entre nosotras, Houston nunca responde y la ley de Murphy tiene más sombras que Grey. Así que visité las rebajas on-line de Long Tall Sally y la operación resultó un éxito. Un éxito limpio y de blanco reluciente, como un pincel para mis medidas y es que el éxito llega cuando se deja de vender ropa para mujeres altas para hacer moda para altas, no creéis?


    Houston, we have a problem!

    Situation: I’m in a well-known Spanish brand shop in front of the mirror of its changing room, holding a short jumpsuit ready to try it on. The  size, the color, the fabric and the print couldn"t turn out better.




    First attempt: Jumpsuit on, by looking at my legs it looks shorter than I thought it was and it seems the waist seam got satisfied around my ribs ...


    Test 1: I raise my shoulders in front of the mirror .. Ouch! What’s wrong down there?
  • Test 2: I’ll try to sit down in the changing room chair. This is the war. ..  both my bum and shoulders are going to kill each other, luckily my bustiness stays out of the fight –thanks lord for such plums you gave me-. My tall frame can’t resist this war; it’s the jumpsuit or me. End of the test. Today is not the break-clothing day.

    Second Attempt:  I’ll try on a larger size, the jumpsuit –or at this point, the sheet- dances around my supposed waist, the pants look short but wider. That’s enough I won’t keep trying it, I won’t bring this bag which doesn’t respect my measures to a dressmaker.


    Between us, Houston never answers and Murphy"s Law has more shadows than Mr. Grey. That’s why I visited the on-line sales of Long Tall Sally and the mission was a complete success. It’s been a bright white success which perfectly adapts to my tall measures. Success comes when tall brands stop selling clothes for tall women and start making tall fashion, don’t you think?















    Mono – TTYA for Long Tall Sally (SS’15). Mono skort con escote trasero. El pantalón es corto pero respeta las exigencias de la altura. Sienta como un guante y el tejido es de primera. Sin duda una de mis mejores compras en LTS! Aun lo podéis encontrar de rebajas.

    Sandalias – Clarks (SS’15). Con un tacón que no llega a 10 cms. son tan cómodas que las he llevado desde la oficina hasta una cena formal. Aun de rebajas, números hasta el 43.

    Collar – Stradivarius (SS’15).

    Jumpsuit - TTYA for Long Tall Sally (SS"15). Backless skort jumpsuit. The pants are short but they’re perfectly proportioned for tall frames. This jumpsuit feels like a glove and the fabric is incredibly fresh and high quality. Definitely one of my best buys in LTS! You can still find it on sales.

    Sandals - Clarks (SS"15). With a heel shorter than than 10 cm they’re one of the most comfy high-heeled sandals I ever wore. I’ve worn them from the office to a formal summer dinner. You can find them on sales (sizes up to 11US/ 8UK).

    Necklace - Stradivarius (SS"15).
