Cabecero shabby chic

Un somier, una colcha y un cabecero marrón en una habitación a punto de ser ocupada…

Este cabecero me estaba pidiendo a gritos que lo pintara para darle un estilo más actual. Aunque la teoría del color me pedía que destacara un poco sobre la pared, yo quería dejarlo lo más neutro posible, de cara a futuros inquilinos, porque estaba en buen estado y tenía pensado que durara muchos años. Además, había pintado las mesitas (de poca calidad, para salir del paso) con más color para marcar contraste, así que me salí con la mía y pinté el cabecero de blanco.  Me encanta el shabby chic y con el Old White de Annie Sloan siempre se acierta. Esta vez, a pesar de utilizar Chalk Paint, sí que lijé la pieza previamente.

Como veis, tuve que hacer las fotos deprisa y corriendo (vamos, sin colchón en la cama), pero no quería dejar de enseñaros el resultado final. Espero que os guste.

A shabby chic headboard

A mattress base, a quilt and a brown headboard in a room that was on the verge of being taken up…


This headboard was crying out loud for a change.  Although the theory of colours would probably advise to paint it emphasising it against the wall, I wanted to leave it as neutral as possible, so that it could last for years no matter what in this flat for rent.  I created the hint of colour with the bedside tables (bad quality ones, I think they won’t last) so I painted the headboard white.  I love shabby chic style, plus you can never go wrong with Annie Sloan’s Old White.  In spite of using Chalk Paint©, I felt like sanding the piece previously.


As you can see I took the pictures in a hurry (I hadn’t got the new mattress yet) but I still wanted to show you the outcome, I hope you like it.
